About me
I trained in bookbinding in Brighton over 30 years ago, and have been making and repairing books and teaching bookbinding ever since.
Working from my studio near the Devon and Somerset border, I make books by hand using traditional bookbinding techniques and archival materials, with a contemporary feel. I teach workshops in traditional and contemporary bookbinding, and work with artists, designers and photographers making books.

My approach
Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of paper, linen and leather, I aim to make books that feel calm and subtle, brought to life by areas of colour, pattern or texture. The tactile nature of a book is also important to me; there is something so magical about the feel of a book in your hands and the movement of the turning pages. My books are above all practical- made to be used and to last.
