Bookbinding workshops in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset
Celandine Books workshops take place at arts centres and book festivals, and at venues such as Tate St Ives, Hauser and Wirth Somerset and the Burton Art Gallery in Bideford.
Each workshop focuses on one or two book structures, and are suitable for complete beginners or for those who would like to extend their skills in a friendly and supportive group.
You will learn traditional bookbinding techniques using specialist tools and materials, and take away your own handmade books plus the skills to make more at home. All the materials and tools are provided, and there is a maximum of 10 participants.

Bespoke workshops
Bespoke workshops can be arranged for groups and individuals. I work with artists, designers and photographers making books, as well as groups including Salcombe Art Club, the NHS Art for Life programme and the charity Headway.
I have many years of experience as a visiting and associate lecturer teaching bookbinding to art and design students at colleges and universities, including Falmouth University, Plymouth University, the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL and Exeter College.
I welcome invitations to teach in all settings, please contact me with any enquiries.
1 to 1 tutorials
1 to 1 online tutorials or mentoring sessions are tailored to meet your needs, and take place via Zoom at a time to suit you.
For everyone making books at home, this is bespoke, one-to-one teaching about specific techniques that you might need a bit of help with, or a particular book structure that you would like to learn.

"I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for providing such professional and enjoyable workshops. I spoke with Natalie earlier and she can’t speak highly enough of the quality of your work and the way you deliver the workshops."

"Thank you for another great workshop. I really love the books I made and my son has already put in an order for a new notebook. You are so patient and encouraging, so that everyone goes home with wonderful books."

"Megan was incredibly generous with her time, knowledge and resources. What's especially great is that the sessions can be tailored to cover anything you want, from a Q&A session to a complete follow along tutorial on a specific topic. Thank you Megan for helping me get back into this wonderful craft.”
